movie night! Published by Christy on November 20th, 2008 @ 9:35 pm
I have to admit that the Lifestream Daily Digest has made me lazy about posting. What can I say? I know you all are really interested in the music I listen to daily.
I have been offered a new job and have decided to take it. I start in a few weeks. So hey, the number of song’s on last.fm will go down because I’m sure I won’t be able to stream music there.
Tonight the girl and I are going to see Twilight at the midnight movies…then I shall have to get up early for school and wait on the cable man to arrive before going about my usual business tomorrow! I will be dragging you know what tomorrow.
Anywho - just a brief “real” post for everyone…not very witty but thoroughly satisfying. Ha. What can I say, other than the job offer it has kind of been a long, not so great week. Here’s hoping for a better weekend!

let’s hope that old saying… Published by Christy on October 13th, 2008 @ 10:40 pm
No news is good news is true. Because no news is what it has been for me.
Being forced to go out of town this week for work. Not looking forward to it. Have things I would rather be doing around here (like the Refresh Jonesboro meeting).
I have been spending lots of time catching up on reading and movies whenever I can. Silly pastimes to some but I enjoy them, especially the reading of a good book. I read Coffee & Kung Fu by Karen Brichoux last week and it moved me. It inspired me to a degree; I know that changes need to be made. I just don’t quite know where to start, and there’s that fear thing - I’m petrified. Petrified of pain. I’m tired of pain.
Hey, there’s a song there, isn’t there? I haven’t got time for the pain…haven’t the need for the pain…
Ha.

the receptionist rant Published by Christy on September 30th, 2008 @ 10:48 pm
1. If you receive a letter from someone which says “I am handling your file and can be reached at 555-1234, extension 123″ that is who you need to call. If you get the voice mail system - LEAVE A VOICE MAIL. Do not hit 0 for operator and expect that person to know what is going on with your file. The person at extension 123 knows about your file. And if it is a law firm you are calling - bad news. The receptionist/operator is NOT, I repeat NOT an attorney! He or she cannot give you legal advice. (this would also go for doctor’s offices, dentist’s offices - the receptionist/operator probably is NOT a licensed doctor)
2. If you get a voice mail several times in one day, that person is probably out of the office. Or seeing clients. Or in Court. Or seeing patients. If you’ve left ONE voice mail it will suffice. Hitting zero for the operator isn’t going to improve your chances of talking to that person. A little secret: the receptionist/operator can NOT make the person you want to talk to magically appear on the phone! No kidding, I am serious as a heart attack…click below to finish reading View the rest of this entry…

have you ever… Published by Christy on October 23rd, 2007 @ 8:59 pm
been so happy that things are going well that it scares you? OR things are going so well that you get upset about something and pretty much feel like you’ve ruined it?
That’s me. Things going really well. Had a baby fit this afternoon after a bad drive home. Just ruined the good vibe that had been going on for the past several, SEVERAL days.
I’m not really loving my new job at all which doesn’t help (hence the grouchy crabby mood that in turn caused the aforementioned baby fit). Only been there two months and I know part of it is my attitude about the job. But the benefits are great, so I feel like I have to do something to make it work. View the rest of this entry…

my new job. Published by Christy on September 3rd, 2007 @ 6:57 pm
So, last week was my first official week there. I am having a lot of mixed emotions about this job. The benefits are awesome. There are a LOT of paid holidays, great insurance benefits and eventually a retirement option for me.
I need some pick me up about the job, so if anyone out there is reading and wants to leave me some encouraging comments…that would be great.
As to the work itself - it is easy. And there is not enough to fill 40 hours per week. I like to keep busy because it makes the workday go by faster. I don’t mind it being easy and relatively stress free, but I would like my time to be filled and to feel like I am of use to them. View the rest of this entry…
