buying a new car. Anyone here gone thru that experience recently?
I got a new car one week ago now. It wasn’t something I was planning on doing but we found something we really liked at a really good price. Slightly used, 1 year old with the standard number of miles for a one year old car. It is the color I love and a car I never thought would be affordable for me (it’s a Dodge Charger. It is inferno red. I am in love)
After some back and forth, we finally get a price and payment we know we can live with and afford. We then have to wait, even after getting loan approval, another TWO hours before the contract can be signed. Ridiculous, right?
We finally get to the accounting department, or whatever you want to call it, to sign the contract. While there, before we even get anything signed, we are BOMBARDED with other offers. View the rest of this entry…

be groovy, very groovy. I watched Dazed and Confused a couple of weekends ago with George. It was a good weekend to watch it - it was the last week of school, and the movie is set on the last day of school. And set in the 70’s. I really enjoy that movie and could watch it over and over.
I confuse myself at times. I was young in the 70’s. Pre-teen years, even. But I have such fond memories of that time. I’ve talked about it before - years before teenage angst then adult hood take over your life. Memories of being a kids, playing outside until dark, riding your bike, chasing the ice cream man when you heard the truck, going to your grandma’s and spending days at a time. Just having fun and not worrying so much about…stuff.
I still love listening to disco, I still adore the Bee Gees and ABBA
. I love watching That 70’s Show
. I love WKRP in Cincinnati
. I loved watching Wonder Woman
, The Bionic Woman, Kaptain Kool & the Kongs
…ahh the 70’s.
We sure could have used Schoolhouse Rock! the last week of school. My son was having a lot of problems with nouns, pronouns, adjectives before his English final. I had a hard time studying because all those songs kept going thru my head.
And with that in mind for your listening pleasure, you children of the 70’s:
Three is a Magic Number
Unpack Your Adjectives (Blossom Dearie)

a date! So I’m going out on a date tomorrow night! I’m sure you all think that is no big deal, but George works 2nd shift most everyday of the week, so it IS a big deal. We are going to make another trip to Memphis, and check out the flea market, then go out that night.
Things are kinda getting crazy around here; the end of school, figuring out the kids schedule with their dad, working around when he wants to take them somewhere and when I want to take them somewhere. My son’s grades had better be improved if he doesn’t want to die of boredom this summer.
I took the kids to see Spiderman 3 this week. I thought it was pretty good. I was always a fan of Thomas Haden Church - going back to when he was Lowell on Wings.
I finished the latest Sookie Stackhouse book by Charlaine Harris last weekend. It was pretty good…and it leaves you kinda hanging! She doesn’t normally do that. But it was an excellent read.
Sorry, this has got to be one of my more boring posts. I’m still trying to find some motivation to blog at all. I promise to get better soon.
