changed it again

What can I say - I couldn’t figure out how to fix the error with the sidebar on the old theme, so I just found another that I was able to figure out. I don’t like it when things are not ‘just so’ & there was some coding in that last theme that I could NOT find to fix.

In other news…

The kids & I attended the Paint Arkansas Blue rally held in Jonesboro this past Saturday with some friends. President Clinton was there, as well as current Governor Mike Beebe, and some past governors…and Mary Steenburgen, which I thought was pretty cool. Below are some pics if you want to check them out:

insane weather
Published by Christy on February 12th, 2008 @ 9:35 pm

So, a couple of weeks ago I told you all it snowed here. Last week was a little different - we had tornado weather. And oh of course, today - we’re back to cold, freezing rain and I heard a few flurries earlier.

Last week when the bad weather hit, the kids and I were at home. I rushed around after work (this was last Tuesday) because they had been talking about this set of storms since Sunday. My hope is that by the time it makes its way from Western Arkansas to Eastern Arkansas, it will lose some steam.

Boy, was I wrong. The tornado sirens started at around 7pm and went off for about 30 straight minutes. It was so nerve wracking. In the meantime, they are talking about every town in a 10 county area around us but OURS on the weather - all the while, the sirens are going off.

Picture it - mom, son, daughter and one chubby guinea pig all holed up in the tub with a mattress over our heads, a TV turned up full blast so we can hear the weather man, the sirens blaring away, my cell phone ringing because my husband was at work in their safe place. I am basically laying in my children’s laps while they sit and I’m thinking this is good because I’m heavier and I don’t want anything to happen to them.

It was good until my daughter passed gas. Needless (and thankfully) to say, the sirens stopped soon thereafter and I was out of that tub quick.

Nothing like a fart to give you a laugh after being petrified for 30 minutes.

it snowed today!

And I didn’t get one blasted picture for you. Oh well.

But I did get to go home at 11:30. Got to spend a whole 1.5 hours with my husband that I wouldn’t have gotten to normally.

So it is tax refund time, and I am still figuring out what kind of sensible thing(s) need to be done with it. While I would love to buy something that I really want and don’t necessarily need (a new TV comes to mind), I will probably pay off some bills.

What are you going to do with your tax refund? Give me some ideas. Maybe there is something that costs $100 or so that I can justify blowing that little amount on.

But look, next Monday - when the kids go back to school - there’s a cold spell. High of 93 and not as hot.

My ass.

we were flocked
Published by Christy on June 18th, 2007 @ 9:02 pm

It was our turn to be flocked at work today:

flocked!

You know, to give a brief explanation - this is part of the local Miss Arkansas contestant’s effort to raise money for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The flock shows up at a different business everyday and it migrated to our office sometime over the weekend.

In other news - today is the first day for me on the Fat Smash Diet. Wish me luck, I really need it. You can read all about it at my diet blog, sogroovynow.wordpress.com.

Some of you may or may not have visited my myspace page. My current song is Memory in the Making by John Kilzer. I’m not sure if this song hit nationwide; it came out in 1988. John Kilzer is a local Memphis musician. I always liked that song, just nice and mellow. And it has one of my favorite lines in a song ever: you’re just a ghost in a castle, that’s my destiny to wrassle. Got to LOVE it!!
