okay so I was going to do a blog on books I’ve been reading and love after reading a post by Joelle, and I was going to say - look at my reading plug in on the right to see some of what I’ve read.
But I changed designs and didn’t realize it changed the designs on the now reading pages, and they are kind of f’d up.
Give me a few days. I’ve been thinking of a new design and upgrading to WP 2.5 anyways. THEN I will talk books.

seems to be on track. I customized it a little more; I wish I were a little more talented with website design to make it look better but I did what I could. The link to the full library is in my sidebar to the left but I still need to add more books. Just getting it to look like I wanted it to was kind of a chore tonight.
I am also getting into the Listal site. If you are like me and you like your stuff to be ‘organized’, then you would enjoy it. Click here to go check it out. You can list stuff you own, movies you want to see, books, music, etc. I am also still working on this.
Woohoo, another exciting Saturday night at my house! Straightened up the computer desk, dusted…it took me hours to get half of my room clean then I petered out (got bored).
Speaking of books and such - read any good books lately? Seen any good movies? What about new music? Tell me what you recommend.

If you will look to the left of the disco theme (I’m tired now and heading to bed so I’ll have to add it to the other themes tomorrow afternoon) - you will find a section of the books I have read, plan on reading, and am currently reading. I only added a few to the library now, and I also want to spiff my library page up some. It is an awesome plugin by Rob and I highly recommend it if you are a big reader like me.
Again, give me a few weeks and I will hopefully have a beautiful library page for everyone to view.

I’ll just wanted to talk about some books I’ve read over the past couple of weeks and some feelings they aroused in me.
I should start out by saying that I was a big romance reader. I read all kinds - historical romances by Johanna Lindsey and Jude Deveraux, more contemporary types like Janet Dailey - who also wrote the series romances like Harlequin and Sihouette. I have my favorite authors in those genres; along with those I’ve just listed I loved Susan Mallery, Kathleen Woodiwiss. There were a few of the series authors I liked but since I don’t read them much anymore, I can’t remember their names.
I can’t seem to read romances anymore. I think after everything I’ve been through, I just find them to be…huge loads of crap that I can’t even enjoy anymore. The last few I have bought have not made me feel like it was time well spent reading them. I have several of these books all over my house and I’ve made a decision that I am going to go through them before the next city wide yard sale, and get rid of most of them.

so you know what this means - something in my house has torn up (as opposed to something on my car)! Never fails, it seems that fate knows when I have extra money.
Just a little plumbing problem…yea, it cost me more than I wanted to spend but thank goodness I had it. It appears, however that I am going to need a new water heater soon. And we’re talking about $300 or so. Let’s hope that something happens that enables me to come up with that kind of extra money.
Let’s see, in other news…I have been catching up on the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris in my reading. I finished Dead To the World last. I’m not really sure how many more I like to be caught up, guess I need to find out. I did read the first book in another one of her series, the Lily Bard one. I wasn’t impressed. I don’t know why … it just seemed to take about 1/2 the book to pick up speed.

So. I bought this book exactly two weeks ago, after I went to see The Lake House. A character was reading it in the movie, so I decided to buy myself a copy. It was Persuasion by Jane Austen. I fork over $6 plus tax for a nice, larger size softcover edition of this book.
The book laid on the coffee table a couple of days, then I moved some books around, made room on the shelf, and I know that I put it next to Gone With The Wind. I got to thinking last week, when the kids were gone to their dad’s…that I hadn’t seen the book. I go look on the shelf and poof…it’s gone.
I took books off the shelf, looked back behind them, looked on every shelf that I have a book on, under the couch, easy chair, in the cushions…nada. This book has disappeared. My nephew has been coming over some and none of the kids have seen it or noticed it.
It’s driving me nuts. So I ended up buying a smaller, cheaper copy of it to replace the old one because I apparently bought the last, larger softcover edition in town.
To make it up to myself, I bought Anderson Cooper’s new book. Everyone deserves a treat every once in a while.
