goodbye, Chris D.

A new design is up so it’s time to stop being lazy about posting. I worked most of tonight on the blog; installing the new design, updating some plugins & so forth. I’m looking at a “books I’ve read” plugin that I want to implement next. I’ve tried to stay busy, because I am totally depressed and had to stay busy to keep from watching baseball tonight, because the St. Louis Cardinals traded my favorite player today.

I feel silly being so upset…I actually felt like crying when I got home and saw it online. Once upon a time, I watched the Cardinals as religiously as I have watched them lately and it was nice to be enthused about baseball again. I was happy to come home and watch a game every night, tweet about them at times…finally went to my first (and second) games at Busch Stadium last month.

Don’t get me wrong…It’s not that I don’t like Pujols, Ludwick, Yadi, Ankiel, Wainwright and the rest of them. But they were not my favorite. Chris Duncan was my favorite. I don’t know why or how it started, but it did. He had a particularly good game last season and I was drawn to him. Some things can’t be explained. Though he has taken a beating from the press and Cardinals fans, I still have faith in him and know he will go far. I just wish it was still for the Cardinals.

Sniffle.
