So, a couple of weeks ago I told you all it snowed here. Last week was a little different – we had tornado weather. And oh of course, today – we’re back to cold, freezing rain and I heard a few flurries earlier.

Last week when the bad weather hit, the kids and I were at home. I rushed around after work (this was last Tuesday) because they had been talking about this set of storms since Sunday. My hope is that by the time it makes its way from Western Arkansas to Eastern Arkansas, it will lose some steam.

Boy, was I wrong. The tornado sirens started at around 7pm and went off for about 30 straight minutes. It was so nerve wracking. In the meantime, they are talking about every town in a 10 county area around us but OURS on the weather – all the while, the sirens are going off.

Picture it – mom, son, daughter and one chubby guinea pig all holed up in the tub with a mattress over our heads, a TV turned up full blast so we can hear the weather man, the sirens blaring away, my cell phone ringing because my husband was at work in their safe place. I am basically laying in my children’s laps while they sit and I’m thinking this is good because I’m heavier and I don’t want anything to happen to them.

It was good until my daughter passed gas. Needless (and thankfully) to say, the sirens stopped soon thereafter and I was out of that tub quick.

Nothing like a fart to give you a laugh after being petrified for 30 minutes.
