Bank of America jerks.

So I, like many … well probably most everyone now that the jerks have bought Countrywide … owe BOA money. I have a credit card account with them.

Last year, when I had a zero balance, they sent me an awesome transfer balance offer. So I transferred a balance, wrote my check out for my first payment two weeks before it was due, stuck it in my purse - then forgot to mail it. I figured this out on the day the payment was due, but the jerks wouldn’t let me schedule a payment for that day, but the next day.

Needless to say, they went up on my interest rate after ONE month and ONE DAY late payment. I called them and yes…it was my fault because I forgot the payment. Nothing I would say, no pointing out that I had consistently paid my bill whenever there was a balance - would work. They would not budge. So - I immediately transferred that balance and swore “never again.”

insane weather
Published by Christy on February 12th, 2008 @ 9:35 pm

So, a couple of weeks ago I told you all it snowed here. Last week was a little different - we had tornado weather. And oh of course, today - we’re back to cold, freezing rain and I heard a few flurries earlier.

Last week when the bad weather hit, the kids and I were at home. I rushed around after work (this was last Tuesday) because they had been talking about this set of storms since Sunday. My hope is that by the time it makes its way from Western Arkansas to Eastern Arkansas, it will lose some steam.

Boy, was I wrong. The tornado sirens started at around 7pm and went off for about 30 straight minutes. It was so nerve wracking. In the meantime, they are talking about every town in a 10 county area around us but OURS on the weather - all the while, the sirens are going off.

Picture it - mom, son, daughter and one chubby guinea pig all holed up in the tub with a mattress over our heads, a TV turned up full blast so we can hear the weather man, the sirens blaring away, my cell phone ringing because my husband was at work in their safe place. I am basically laying in my children’s laps while they sit and I’m thinking this is good because I’m heavier and I don’t want anything to happen to them.

It was good until my daughter passed gas. Needless (and thankfully) to say, the sirens stopped soon thereafter and I was out of that tub quick.

Nothing like a fart to give you a laugh after being petrified for 30 minutes.

my husband must really love me.
Published by Christy on February 11th, 2008 @ 9:49 pm

As some of you may (or may not) know, my husband used to work in radio. He has met some bands. We’ve gone to some shows and he arranged for us to meet Seether which I thought was pretty cool.

At any rate, he has quite a few autographed items. He has some autographed CD inserts from A Simple Plan, Sheryl Crow, 3 Doors Down, Ingram Hill. I have some signed by Seether, Marty Casey & Lovehammers, and Kevin & Bethany Paige. He has autographed pics from Nickelback and Matchbox Twenty. I have an autographed poster from Brian Setzer.

Here is why he loves me. I have an autographed picture of Loverboy that I got probably twenty (muffle muffle) years ago when I was about 13 or 14 years old. Oh, did I love Mike Reno. Yea, I know he has changed but haven’t we all.

We got to Hobby Lobby on Saturday, and buy nice frames and mats for all the pics. My Loverboy pic has seen better days, but he insisted that we include it. So, amongst all the newer bands and the fancy poster is my old, bent and torn autographed Loverboy picture that he helped to put together and hang up.

It must be love.

buying a new car.
Published by Christy on February 10th, 2008 @ 8:10 pm

Anyone here gone thru that experience recently?

I got a new car one week ago now. It wasn’t something I was planning on doing but we found something we really liked at a really good price. Slightly used, 1 year old with the standard number of miles for a one year old car. It is the color I love and a car I never thought would be affordable for me (it’s a Dodge Charger. It is inferno red. I am in love)

After some back and forth, we finally get a price and payment we know we can live with and afford. We then have to wait, even after getting loan approval, another TWO hours before the contract can be signed. Ridiculous, right?

We finally get to the accounting department, or whatever you want to call it, to sign the contract. While there, before we even get anything signed, we are BOMBARDED with other offers. View the rest of this entry…
