New Year’s Music…
well, it is officially New Year’s Eve here, so I’ve got a few songs for you for the occasion (get them while you can):
Dan Fogelberg – Same Old Lang Syne. This gets played a lot at Christmas but I remember (vaguely) when this song came out, which was not at Christmas. At any rate, this is a good “story song.”
Seasons of Love from “Rent.” This is the movie version. Some might think me awful out there, but I think this song should be the new auld lang syne for our generation. The lyrics speak of things that happen in 525,600 minutes. I love this song.
Brian Setzer Orchestra – What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve. On the newest Christmas CD (Dig That Crazy Christmas). Do you honestly think I wouldn’t get one BSO song in? Of course not! He sings this as a duet with his wife, Julie.
Have a safe and most of all HAPPY New Year! Here’s to the next 525,600 minutes.
