Christmas time Published by Christy on November 30th, 2006 @ 9:58 pm
well…I have gotten some more shopping done. I alternate between being ambivalent and being excited about the season
I think I blogged about this last year. Does getting older ruin this time of year? Do your children getting older ruin it? Maybe ruin is not a good word. You just become less enthusiastic. Yes, I know there are lots of people who aren’t enthusiastic about this time of year, anyway. But I used to enjoy it, alot. I used to look forward to … everything. I found myself at work today getting in a good mood about it. View the rest of this entry…

best Christmas shopping day ever! Published by Christy on November 25th, 2006 @ 11:25 am
I rarely have one of these, and though it was a long morning, I achieved alot…I can talk about a little bit here…
Well, first the bad. Tried to get on walmart.com to order a gift for George’s son. I got all the way to pick which credit card you want to use (I was logged in) TWICE, only to have their website completely crash. We never did get it ordered. When we got to Walmart it was pure HELL in there, and there were none of that item in stock.
Not a good start.
We went from there to Circuit City to get a gift for my boss (I’m not, at this time, sharing the exact items…don’t want to ruin any surprises). I also wanted this particular item for myself and they had it at an EXCELLENT price. Found one. SIGH. So my boss will get it, not me.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Published by Christy on November 20th, 2006 @ 10:34 pm
I watched tonight, did you? Did anyone notice that some of it actually got CUT OUT? That bugs me. Yes, I have it on DVD. But is it necessary to cut about 3 minutes out to make room for MORE commercials? Seriously…c’mon…
This is just about my favorite Peanuts holiday classic. I love the theme to this one. I love the scene where Snoopy gets in the fight with the striped chair. It still makes me laugh.
But a couple of things that bother me…
There is no Lucy.
And Woodstock is eating turkey at the end. I wonder if it is a relative of his.
Please forgive me, Charles Schulz, for that last lame joke. I love Peanuts; they are my extended family. That was just wrong of me, yet I can’t help but wonder…

just wore out Published by Christy on November 18th, 2006 @ 4:15 pm
I never seem to blog anymore. Just too tired, I suppose. The first night this past week where I got to go directly home (meaning not going somewhere else first, or leaving to go somewhere when I got off work) was last night - Friday!
My daughter is playing basketball and it is her second year. They had their 2nd game this morning, and she did not get to play at all. He put her in the last 20 seconds of their first game. She is very unhappy and wants to quit. It was obvious at the practices to me who was going to get play time, and unfortunately, I could see my daughter was getting the short end of the stick

going out of town Published by Christy on November 10th, 2006 @ 7:53 am
I’m heading out of town for the weekend, me and the kids are taking a trip with my parents. Sure, I could’ve let the kids go and had a whole weekend stretched before me but…sometimes, you just have to be a family.
The boys are going to deer hunt while me, my mother and daughter hang out. I have board games, movies, books, and mp3 players. What more could I possibly need?
