Forty years.  It has been forty years since this special first aired in 1966 on CBS.  There has never been a time in my life, or my children’s lives, when this special hasn’t come on.

Brian Setzer - and me - in Nashville.

I decided that one of my presents to myself this year for Christmas is going to the Brian Setzer Christmas Extravaganza.  Unfortunately, it appears that 4 hours away is as close as he is going to get. 

But I’m going.  I’m excited and really, REALLY looking forward to it.

Is anybody else out there going to see him in ANY city?  Saw he was doing one in Santa Rosa - that would be an absolute DREAM for me.  Go to see Setzer, go to the Schulz museum…all at Christmas?  Yea, a dream.  But MY dream.

I know I owe several of you on my blogroll visits.  I promise you I am going to work hard on visiting ALL of you this weekend!  I’ve been in a bit of a funk…was going to have a little party at my house Friday but couldn’t get anyone other than 3 people to RSVP, so I think I’m cancelling it.  It has kinda bummed me out.

Anyway - I haven’t disappeared, and I will be around this weekend to visit you and see what is up with you here lately!!

XM and Kelly Clarkson: conspiracy?

I’ve been meaning to talk about this for awhile;  it is something that bothers me daily when I get in the car to go anywhere.

I have an XM Radio.  I listen to local radio every once in a while, but I enjoy the variety of XM.  As you might know, you can save your favorite songs and be alerted to when they come on.  I have managed to burn myself out on Breakaway AND Walk Away by Kelly Clarkson.

Here is the thing:  I have twenty songs saved to my favorites (the oldest saved goes when you add a new one)… View the rest of this entry…
