Rockstar - another commentary.
Published by Christy on August 31st, 2006 @ 11:54 pm

If you taped it Wednesday night and haven’t watched it yet, stop reading.  Spoiler ahead.

Ryan the constipated one is gone.  I thought Storm would get the boot but as I posted on the other blog…I think Dilana alienated so many of the men that they felt they had to keep her around until at least the next elimination.

I’m ready for it to be done.  I can’t seem to stop watching, but I’m not enjoying it like I did Rockstar: INXS.  Yea, I’m all sucked into the ‘drama’.  But I’m just…ready.  Aren’t you? View the rest of this entry…

sing it with me - he’s gone
Published by Christy on August 31st, 2006 @ 10:50 pm

I am still in shock after last night’s Rockstar: Supernova.  Ryan?!  They booted Ryan?  After the way they say he has improved.

After weeks of praise being heaped on Ryan (who always looks constipated), and some not so nice critiques for Storm…I really thought she would go.   My thinking is…Dilana has alienated a lot of the guys in the past couple of weeks (dissed Ryan’s performance, busted Magni’s head open, talked badly about Lukas), so they don’t want to leave her alone in that house with all those guys.  Seriously, I think that is why Ryan went.  I think Ryan would’ve lasted longer but apparently…well, let’s just say it.  They KNOW who they want.  I think by now they have decided.

I’m ready for it to be OVER.  Like I said, they could have started this thing off with several less singers than they did.  And I am assuming two will go next week if they do like on Rockstar:INXS and have 3 in the final show; with a final “showdown” between 2.

Toby is really started to grow on me.  Ever since he did Solsbury Hill.  That was great. View the rest of this entry…

moving right along…
Published by Christy on August 30th, 2006 @ 7:05 pm

to last night’s Rockstar: Supernova.  But first, briefly from last week…

Boy, Dilana has had SOME week, huh?  Clips rolled out last week kinda hinted at a true rock star was my thought.  A little conceited (okay…a LOT), opinions about everything and everyone.  She apologized to everyone and tried to explain.  But what bothered me was when asked if she stood behind what she said about Ryan’s performance - (basically it wouldn’t have been ‘that good’ without the house band) the way she started to say yes, she stood behind it, then quickly said no she didn’t mean it when she got booed.

First of all - Ryan kicked ass that night, and she knew it.  I think that she felt that she’s had the upper hand;  that she knows she has been the favorite.  So…Ryan kicked ass with an original song no less, and he was on a high because he knew he had done well…hey!  She had to nip that in the bud quick.  So let’s take him down a notch, criticize him while pointing out how great I am.

Second of all - if you meant what you said, then don’t be afraid to say YES.  If you really believed his performance would’ve been nothing without the house band and meant it, then OWN it, girl.  Everyone has a right to their opinion.  No one’s is right.  No one’s is wrong.  Opinions are just feelings and everyone has them.

little project…
Published by Christy on August 28th, 2006 @ 10:54 pm

I know I tend to disappear for a day or so…or more.  I don’t post here or elsewhere.

I get involved in projects.  Oh, it could be something as simple as cleaning my room, the kids rooms (really not simple jobs come to think of it), or something as complex as trying to do a complete overhaul on my ‘myspace’ page.

Thanks to DEREK’s minimal myspace div overlay, I was able to make my page a little different from the norm.  Go check it out HERE and tell me what you think.

As far as moving the music player, got that courtesy of GREG.

What I did was very time consuming - it could have been made much simpler had I not added the photos.  However, I had always thought it would be nice if you could group your friend pics together, which is what I did.  I still don’t have a “top 24″ but it is a top 16 or so (some are regular links without photos).

I tell you time consuming because I don’t think that it was so easy that I could explain it simply.  If you have some knowledge of HTML, you should be able to use Derek’s bones and spice up a spot for yourself.

So…?  Did you go look yet?  How is it??

Snakes on a Plane!
Published by Christy on August 27th, 2006 @ 9:16 pm

Friday night I went with a friend to the midnight showing of Snakes on a Plane (audience participation version).   We went online and tried to figure out some of the stuff we were supposed to do, we (wait…I) folded paper airplanes.  I didn’t have a rubber snake but I had a stuffed snake that was about as long as I was tall.  Took a flashlight.  You also were supposed to take those little popper bottles that shoot out confetti.

At any rate - not only did I enjoy the movie, but I had a good time.  I think this movie could catch on as an excellent midnight movie, audience participation thing in no time.  The good thing about going to this midnight showing was getting to scream at the top of your lungs when you got scared.  I liked that a lot.  I also liked getting to throw those paper airplanes.  Other than one bigoted asshole sitting behind it, it was a good time.

The movie itself was excellent.  A good, fun, scary movie.  Sure, it borders on the ridiculous - Samuel L. Jackson’s acting was so campy, it was good - because you knew he was doing it on purpose.  He’s in a movie called Snakes on a Plane, for goodness sake!  Snakes on a muthafucking plane!!

There was the usual snotty person who got what they deserved, the big star & bodyguards, the newlyweds going home after their honeymoon, a mother with her baby - all the elements for a GREAT horror movie set on a plane.

It’s worth the money.  Go see it.

On another note, Rent premiered on Starz on Saturday night.  Another movie worth watching.  Catch it while it’s on the next month if you have Starz.
