network neutrality

Read Mikey’s post on this and just wanted to help spread the word.

Save the internetWhat is this about?

This is about Internet freedom. “Network neutrality” — the First Amendment of the Internet — ensures that the public can view the smallest blog just as easily as the largest corporate Web site by preventing Internet companies like AT&T from rigging the playing field for only the highest-paying sites.

But Internet providers like AT&T and Verizon are spending millions of dollars lobbying Congress to gut Net Neutrality. If Congress doesn’t take action now to implement enforceable network neutrality provisions, the future of the Internet is at risk.

Okay, people…I’m going to Little Rock for the weekend.  Don’t have any wild parties around here while I’m gone.    I expect you to keep the place picked up, catch up on the laundry while I’m gone, and for things to be in tip top shape when I come back.

I hope that I can trust you while I am gone.  I know how irresponsible you can be when I’m not around to monitor things.

procrastination.

I had several things I needed to get done tonight.  I needed to fill out a rebate form to send into Cingular.  I looked at it last night and thought I’ll take it to work tomorrow and do it there.  I looked at it this morning and thought I can do that here tonight.  I got home tonight…well, I guess there’s no need in going on.  I’ll do it in the morning before my boss comes in…

…right after I finish my committee lists for the legal group I’m in, so that people can sign up for the committees they want to be on during our meeting tomorrow night.

I also needed to run to Walmart and return a shirt, and get some chocolate for a project (I say that in all seriousness;  it’s for a basket for a silent auction).  But did I go after work like I planned??? NO.  My thought being:  it is always crowded there at 5 after everyone has gotten off work.  Now, at 7:45 in the morning while everyone is going into work…that’s a better time.

I heard something over the weekend along the lines of … life is too short.  Procrastinate now.  I think I did my part today.

insanity…

Well, my PC took a final crap this weekend.  After almost 3 years and 3 CD writers, all three of which quit burning CD’s shortly after I got them…it’s time to move on.  This time, it is a part called a “heat sink” that has come loose.  It hooks on this little bitty hook that is soldered on the inside of your computer.  I don’t have that kind of equipment;  gorilla glue got it back on for a mere few minutes.  As long as I didn’t shut the computer down, I was good.  Otherwise, shutting it down meant it stayed off.  I managed to backup all my files before shutting it down.

I’m using my laptop for now but a new desktop is on it’s way.  Laptops are okay but…I guess I’m just funny;  I have to have my desktop.

We did the family thing today and I have been so tired this weekend that I don’t even feel like I was all there.  We left at almost 3, came home, worked in the flower bed, mowed the grass, did laundry, and moved some computer equipment around to make room for the new one.

Whoa…the excitement in my life NEVER ceases to amaze me.  Sigh.

At any rate, I hope everyone had a great Easter!!

a little tip for you…
Published by Christy on April 12th, 2006 @ 6:16 am

Before you put your work clothes on for the day…brush your teeth.  That way, when you dribble a little (admit it, you know you do every once in a while), it gets on your robe or PJ’s and NOT your work shirt.  Then you don’t get pissed and have to change shirts after your mind is all set on the first shirt.

A little wisdom I thought was worth sharing with the world.
